You are in a pretty similar position to me, my ballot papers arrived on Friday, it’s pretty appaling the letter was sent via the Dutch post, don’t the Royal Mail have a faster system to get documents to EU countries by a quicker method? I have just had eye surgery making the whole process more difficult but that’s not their fault .

Morocco is a corrupt country and will continue to be corrupt. Everything you said is valid, but you failed to mention that the country is being run by a current government composed of people from the Bourgeoisie. They aren't working for the people, they are working on developing things for the sake of tourism only. The Marrakech Culture is the Moroccan government culture. Meaning they don't want to develop anything long-term (industries, talent, people), they want things to be easy and rely on foreigners to pay for them. In addition, the culture of power in the country perpetuates the injustice towards people. Healthy competition is frowned upon, which hurts the economy, and any person who's got a position of power doesn't feel compelled to work hard, because their position is guaranteed. There is a lot of Nepotism in the country and corruption otherwise gets things done. This is pushing a lot of young men to immigrate looking for better opportunities and looking for justice. What's worse, the Moroccan government has no incentive to keep and provide opportunities to these young men because when they immigrate they send dollars and euros to Morocco. Regarding the World Cup and COVID, Morocco was just Lucky. First, during the world cup, Morocco faced teams in the middle of transitioning and who were having problems. It was in no way an indicator of the strength of the team, far from it. Second, about COVID, Morocco as a kingdom, allowed itself to do certain things that other democratic countries couldn't do. Indeed, there was a lot of financial support to families (to impress the West and Europe), but all that money and more was recuperated when prices of gas almost tripled out of nowhere when the lockdown ended. Your rosey impression of Morocco is slightly distorted because 1. you're a foreigner so people treat you differently (Tourism) because they think there is a potential of making some money with you. 2. Your local salary is high which allows you access to things most Moroccans don't have access to. 3. You live in Rabat. it's the capital and the main residence of the king. So out of fear, the city is often clean and most things function quite well.

If you let yourself get treated like dirt and allow the wealthy to treat you like serfs, then you haven't got much to live for and not much to offer. In this life you have to fight like you are the third monkey in line to get on the ark and it's started raining. A lot of people are already beyond help.

Its fascinating to see people from the west becoming expats in favor of countries in the global south, only to want those same countries to start adopting "western norms" and "western values". The reason most become expats is because they are unhappy with the way of life in the west ....why then wish for conservative countries to become like the country you left? I personally find it tragic that these Muslim countries are adopting Liberalism and Femanism.

Great video, I really love the added videos of the world cup, I also think that really brought the country together. I really appreciate the statistics about COVID as well. Just would like to know is is it easy for you to retire in Morocco. Also how long does it take to become a resident or if you could ever be a citizen. Also is there an easy way to use a banking system that is able to do both USA baking and Moroccan banking. I am considering relocating from America and need to find a bank that I would work from America and be able to access my money in Morocco.

Thatcher’s ideology killed the great British spirit. Selfishness, greediness, and self centred egos. I accept problems were already there from previous governments, but she accelerated the process. I’m ok Jack, lift the ladder up and forget the rest. Now we are paying the price for those cruel ideologies. A country of selfish individuals.

Thankyou for the video, my husbands from Rabat ( now been living in Edinburgh for aound 7 years with me). Ive been visiting Morocco for 15 yrs, love the peoples kindness and generosity, i always say to people, never judge Morocco on Marrakech, ive taken a shine to the small town of Anza, just North of Agadir, only last week i spoke to 2 young girls around 9/10 yrs old who's English was excellent. Morocco is certainly moving forward but i hope it doesnt lose it's identity and become too westernised. Sorry for the long message!😂

Eid Al-Adha is not obligatory, especially if you cannot afford it financially. Sadly, the social pressure is true and the sadder part is that people will not mock them for not celebrating the eid, it just in their head that people will belittle them for not buying the sheep. Allah made it so that those who celebrate Eid must donate 1/3 of the meat to those in need and 1/3 to the guests.

Eid al-Adha is a Sunnah and it is not obligatory for anyone who can afford to buy a sheep and wants to buy it, because it is called Eid al-Adha, meaning offering a sacrifice to God Almighty. And whoever cannot afford to buy a sheep, there is no blame on him, and God is compassionate to His servants.

I think now in May 2024 the British people are realising the UK is finished and that a lot of the 60 plus Muslim majority countries have in general preserved traditional family values which have been destroyed in the UK and getting a lot worse alongside the high crime rates and mental health. Hope to meet you up in Morocco Gari and exchange some good discussions. Thank you again.

In May 2024 in the UK we are seeing the increase of Road Tax and Car insurance and Electric, Water and Gas bills, Council Tax, Rent, Mortgage rates, and it's definitely increasing again within 6 more months. Add to that the New announcements for thousands to be taken off PIP Payments with that having started now, thousands to be taken off Universal Credit if they don't get work within 12 Months which means they'll stop getting their housing benefits paid to their landlords, so homeless, mental health, drug addictions and extra high crime rates are only going to increase even though these are already very high in the UK in 2024. Racism is also sharply on the rise and violence with organised crime and plenty of online scams. Domestic Violence is going out of control with brutal stuff. It's so sad to have been born and raised in the UK to now feel and see so many others unhappy and uncomfortable here, no wonder so many are heading abroad. I can't see this being reversed for at least another 15 years! It's turning out to be extremely corrupt and the elites are getting away with it openly.
